What is excessive perspiration?
Sweating is the release of sweat which is the fluid produced by the sweat glands in order to keep the body at a constant temperature.
In some cases of particular severity, excessive perspiration may be associated with fever, chest pain, wheezing, weight loss, or accelerated heartbeat.
Conditions that induce sweating may include changes in external temperature, some physical activity, intense emotional situations (such as anxiety, stress, fear, embarrassment, anger), fever, or infections.
There may be an increase in sweating following the intake of spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol, or certain medications.
