The carpal tunnel syndrome is a lesion that affects the fingers, hands and wrist. The carpal tunnel is a space bounded by the wrist bones and a rigid ligament that connects the bones to each other. Through this channel passes the median nerve. The latter controls the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and ring finger.
When this space becomes small, which can be due to several factors, the median nerve becomes compressed. Fortunately, there are several remedies to this condition, that include surgical and non-surgical techniques.
